What We Do: The Midway Museum, Inc., located at 491 N. Coastal Hwy, Midway, Georgia, is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the preservation and transmission of Midway’s history. Our website and email communications are designed to advertise our tours and rental possibilities, educate visitors about Midway’s history, and solicit support for the Museum through donations, memberships, and volunteer opportunities.

What Kinds of Information Our Website May Collect: When you visit the website or send us an email, any of the personal information you provide (name, email address, phone, etc) is collected and may be maintained in an email or other database. We use the Mailchimp.com database to keep track of the email addresses of people who wish to receive communications from us. Mailchimp.com’s privacy statement may be found on their website.

If you choose to make a payment on the website — for a membership, donation, event, tour or at the museum store — the information, including credit card information, is used to process that transaction.

If you follow a link from our website (such as a Facebook link), those sites may collect data about you just as if you had visited them from outside our website. Our website host, Bluehost.com, collects “cookies,” which they define as “electronic collections of information stored on a local computer that are used by websites to keep track of visitors and registered users and to relate one computer transaction to a later one.” Bluehost.com’s privacy statement may be found on their website.

How We Use the Collected Information:

If you have chosen to subscribe to our email notices, we will send you emails about upcoming events and activities.

Analytics and Statistics: The anonymized information collected from the website is provided by Bluehost.com, or via WordPress plug-ins designed to use this information, to track usage in order to improve the website’s performance. The information is not used by the Museum to identify any particular individual.

How Your Information is Protected: The website uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and a payment service provider to process credit card information for any purchases.

Who We Share the Information With: The Midway Museum does not provide personal information about website visitors to any third party, other than to the service providers listed above as necessary for conducting our business.
