What To Expect
There is free parking beside the Museum. (The Church is on one side of the Museum, and the parking is on the other side.) Climb the front steps and knock on the door. A docent will greet you and collect the admission fee. The tour will last about 45 minutes. At the end, please visit our Museum bookstore with its hard-to-find books on Liberty County history. Then you can walk over to view the outside of the 1792 Midway Church and visit its historic cemetery. Tours of the cemetery can be arranged in advance for an additional $10. Accessibility
The Museum has three flights of stairs, but tours can be customized for those with disabilities or for groups with small children. Please call ahead — 912-884-5837 — to make arrangements.
Directions
From I-95 North or South: Take exit 76 in Georgia, and turn west on E. Oglethorpe Hwy (US-84 W/GA-38 W). Travel 3.7 miles to its intersection with N. Coastal Hwy/US-17 N/GA-38. Turn right and drive .5 miles. The Museum will be on the right. The entrance to the free parking is just past the Museum.
From Hinesville: Take E. Oglethorpe Hwy/US-84 E/GA-38 west toward Midway. At the intersection with N. Coastal Hwy/US-17 N/GA-38, turn left and drive .5 miles. The Museum will be on the right. The entrance to the free parking is just past the Museum.
